masking discs

High-temperature masking discs and tapes are available from MOCAP in various sizes.

Although many businesses turn to MOCAP for its caps, plugs, and grips, the company’s portfolio of protective items is even broader than that. The company manufactures various masking products, including numerous sizes of high-temperature masking discs and tapes. Constructed out of polyester or polyimide, these tapes and discs use silicone-based adhesives that leave no residue after removal, and they can resist extremely high temperatures for up to an hour.

Perfect for powder coating

MOCAP offers polyester and polyimide high-temperature masking discs. Sometimes referred to as dots, both types are perfect for applications like powder coating. The MCD-PE series of polyester discs can resist continuous temperatures as high as 218 degrees Celsius, while the MCD-PI series of polyamide discs can resist temperatures up to 260 degrees Celsius and also protect against short exposures of more than 371 degrees Celsius. All discs of 3/8 of an inch and larger have a unique split backing, which saves labour time. MOCAP’s polyimide performs equally as well as the widely recognized Kapton brand does.

MOCAP’s polyester discs are available in 25 different sizes, with diameters ranging from 3.2 to 152.4 millimetres (mm) and quantities from 100 to 5,000 per roll. Polyimide discs come in 16 sizes, with diameters going from 4.8 to 44.5 mm and quantities from 1,000 to 5,000 per roll. MOCAP can offer more masking discs per roll to reduce inventory, piece price, and time for changing rolls.

For masking larger areas on which dots are insufficient, MOCAP offers polyester and polyamide tapes. The MCT620 series of high-temperature polyester tapes can resist temperatures of up to 218 degrees Celsius for an hour, and MOCAP stocks them on wide rolls; they can be cut to customers’ specific widths. For temperatures of up to 260 degrees Celsius, it is better to go with the MCT800 series of polyimide tapes, which also resist short exposures of more than 371 degrees Celsius.

Twelve sizes of the MCT620 polyester tapes are available, with diameters from 6.4 to 152.4 mm, while MOCAP offers the MCT800 series in 14 sizes, from 4.8 to 152.4 mm.
