For example, the M100T and M5000T miniature speed switches are full rotation-monitoring systems that are ideal for detecting unwanted stoppage or slowdown in process equipment. Each of these switch models provides the same operating range and has a terminal block inside the housing for easy wiring connection and installation.

With many new, upgraded features

Rugged and reliable, these miniature speed switches are upgraded models of the original Electro-Sensors M100 and M5000 series. The new features that have been added to these versions include explosion-proof and moisture-resistance cast aluminum housing and a standard voltage of 155 VAC, with other options available. The M100T model has a relay set-point range from five to 100 revolutions per minute (RPM), and the M5000T switch has a relay set-point range of between 100 and 5,000 RPM. The relay can always be set to trip within this range.

The SPDT 5-Amp control relay can be employed to shut equipment down or sound an alarm, in the event of broken drives, belt slippage, product overload, clogs, jams, or other causes of rotational failure. This detection of potential problems allows proactive maintenance to prevent equipment damage, product waste, and unnecessary downtime in the simplest way possible.

Among other features of these upgraded miniature speed switches: compact, self-contained rotation-monitoring systems; easy installation and calibration; rugged and dust-, dirt-, and grease-proof system; fail-safe operation; optional EZ-100 easy-mount bracket and Disc Guard; optional split-collar pulser wraps; M5000T speed switch and 256 pulser disc; and M100T speed switch and 255 pulser disc as standard systems.

These two series of miniature speed switches are the perfect option for monitoring drive trains, power-driven components, crushers, exhaust fans, screw conveyors, and tail pulleys on belt conveyors or elevator legs in a wide range of sectors.
