The Sioux 1AM1541 drill, available from Dobco

Sioux Industrial Air Tools is a top provider of pneumatic drills around the world, and Dobco Equipment is proud to supply its products in Canada. Renowned for exceptional engineering and construction, these drills are capable of a broad range of configurations, speeds, and options to suit virtually any application. Sioux manufactures four kinds of miniature angle drills, including the 1AM1541 model, which can reach a free speed of 2,800 revolutions per minute.

Variation with level lock available

Like all Sioux drills, the 1AM1541 has ergonomic features that offer top comfort. It is useful for many applications, from manufactured housing and woodworking to light assembly. Operator fatigue is minimized with a low sound level and low vibration, while user comfort results from lightweight aluminum housing and comfortable grips.

The 1AM1541 weights only 700 grams and measures only 25.9 centimetres long and eight millimetres (mm) from side to centre. Each of these miniature angle drills has a maximum air consumption of six litres per second and a ¼-inch to 28 internal thread. A variation is available with a level lock. Specifications and features that this drill shares with Sioux’s other three models in this group:

  • power of ¼ of a kilowatt;
  • non-reversibility;
  • level start;
  • 45-degree miniature angle head;
  • 180-degree adjustable rotating head;
  • air inlet size of ¼ of an inch NPT;
  • recommended hose size of ten mm; and
  • performance rating at 90 psig of air pressure.

Each of these miniature angle drills also comes with a safety and instruction manual and other standard equipment and parts. Dobco also offers the Sioux sealant removal tool kit and models with different free speeds and sizes.

While Sioux pneumatic drills are commonly used for drilling holes in wood, metal, or plastic, they suit a broad range of applications. Relevant tasks for these tools include reaming (opening up or sizing a previously drilled hole or aligning offset holes), tapping (cutting threads in a drilled hole to accept threaded fasteners), continuous-duty production drilling, initial tap operations and thread chasing, wire brushing and deburring, screw-driving, hole sawing, and general maintenance.
