Hydra-Cell fluid-control products are available through John Brooks Company Limited, including six designs of metering pumps. The P series usually exceeds the requirements of the API 675 performance standard by blending simple, elegant engineering with rugged construction, providing high versatility with low overall cost through accurate metering and dosing with virtually pulse-free flow. John Brooks Company highly recommends these compact, cost-efficient pump systems for high-performance metering applications.
Not a conventional metering pump
Unlike competitors’ metering pumps, manufactured from technology that has barely changed in decades, the typical P series unit from Hydra-Cell is not a conventional metering pump. Hydra-Cell uses the most current technology to achieve higher levels of accuracy, repeatability, and linearity while delivering constant, precise flow. With the latest means of electronic flow control, Hydra-Cell replaces obsolete, inaccurate stroke adjusters with limited use and cost consequences.
Among the design advantages of the P series: a constant volume of oil on the non-process side of the diaphragm; a replenishment valve in every piston assembly; rugged construction; and long-lasting durability to offer value over a lifetime. These metering pumps from John Brooks Company use Variable Frequency Drive electronic flow adjustment to maintain accuracy over the full turndown range, which lowers the chances of operator error, pumping inaccuracy, lost motion, and leaks. Other benefits:
While some manufacturers provide only PTFE diaphragms for metering pumps, the P series can be equipped with a variety of diaphragm materials – including FKM, Buna-N, EPDM, Neoprene, Aflas, or PTFE – to function over a broader variety of processing tasks. This also enables lower stress and higher processing temperatures, resulting in less frequent expensive replacement. Several Hydra-Cell metering pumps come with special materials, like Hastelloy C or PVDF.
Finally, five of the six pumps in the P series have a multiple-diaphragm design that substantially reduces pulsations, unlike standard metering pumps with pulsing, surging flow that leads to needless wear and tear.
