The Eaton DCF 3000 mechanically cleaned filter

Eaton fluid-control solutions are available to Canadian businesses through John Brooks Company Limited, including the DCF 3000 series of mechanically cleaned filters. These are recommended for highly viscous, abrasive, or sticky liquids with flow rates of up to 500 gallons per minute (gpm) – or up to 1,500 gpm for water-like fluids.

The DCF 3000 line works for numerous applications, including adhesives, chocolate, detergents, edible oils, ink, lime slurries, nutraceuticals, paint, paper coatings, petroleum-based grease, and much more.

Elimination of operator intervention

These mechanically cleaned filters each have a dual cleaning disc and twin actuator design that can be fabricated in various materials and options with temperatures up to 204 degrees Celsius. This delivers high advantages when processing high-viscosity fluids in challenging tasks. With retentions of 15-to-1,100 microns, the DCF 3000 series from John Brooks Company uses the proved features of DCF 1600 twin mechanically cleaned filters, but with 2½ times the capacity. It is compatible with a broad range of fluid process conditions, with a maximum operating pressure of 150 pounds per square inch to enable multiple options for seals and cleaning disk materials. Two actuators isolate the actuation mechanism from the filtrate with a bridged system. Users get long operational life for high-pressure, high-temperature conditions.

The elimination or reduction of disposable filter bags and cartridges minimizes operator handling, inventory expenses, and waste disposal. Other features include reduction of product loss, with more thorough contaminant purge in a highly concentrated waste stream, and reduction or elimination of operator intervention, for safer use. The compact design results in a lower capital cost to fit in most installations, and the stainless steel screens handle a broad variety of filtration requirements. The DCF 3000 series is available with Delrin or PEEK cleaning discs; optional PLC controls and ASME U stamp are available.

Each unit weighs approximately 159 kilograms and measures 3.454 metres high. The vessel is made of 316 stainless steel, with packing made of urethane, Teflon, Viton, and Glyon, and the filter has a purge connection of two in both NPT and BSPT.
