Matritech uses robotic bending and welding equipment.

For a broad range of machining options for custom metal components, Matritech Inc. offers a collection of robotic machinery for bending and welding. The company uses the most recent technology available to ensure its role as an unmatched one-stop shop for products and services in Canadian industry. To meet the high expectations and standards of its customer base, Matritech combines committed client service with its robotic bending and welding services.

Complex, precise welding assemblies

Ever since Matritech was founded in 1989, investing in new equipment has been a top priority, to keep pace with changing customer demand. In 2003, the company hit a breakthrough when it purchased its first piece of robotic welding equipment. Now, Matritech owns three multi-axle welding robots with pulsed-arc welding technology, enabling the team to make complex welding assemblies with quality, repeatability, and perfect precision.

Matritech offers manual welding for smaller-scale projects, and the full welding department can handle steel, stainless steel, and aluminum-assembly projects. Three competitive advantages that these machine-welded components provide: top quality of tooling used; the experience and high standards of the robot programmers, and the team’s ingenuity for finding the most suitable solution.

Seven years ago, the company bought its own robotic bending cell, the Trumpf Trubend Cell 7000 – the first such piece of robotic machinery in the country. The Trubend has helped Matritech improve production capacity and quality; another key advantage is extra flexibility, allowing clients to switch between high-volume stamping runs and standard bending short runs.

The Trubend Cell 7000 has two gripping arms that can handle pieces laid flat, analyze them, conduct the task, and put them on a conveyor, all with flawless synchronization and without human involvement. Both Matritech and its customers benefit from the machine’s high speed, efficiency, short setup time, and ability to produce complex components that suit many industrial purposes.
