Baskets are designed to be lifted with shackles by overhead crane or forklift, but not designed to handle people.

Material lifting baskets come in standard sizes and capacities with customization options. Built with welded steel frames with lifting lugs on four corners and plate steel floors, they are rugged and durable for many industrial applications. Fork pockets on the underside of the steel floors make it easy for lift trucks to handle or stack them two-high. Available with welded wire mesh walls or solid walls to contain materials within, they are one of many below-the-crane-hook products that ELS offers, all designed to handle loads safely and efficiently.

Wash baskets, a similar product, are designed to contain items that go through a dipped process, such as washing, rinsing, or currying. The walls of wash baskets are made from expanded steel mesh and with floors of grated slats; this allows liquid compounds to flow through the items in the basket. Made from mild steel, which can withstand most chemicals, wash baskets come with a center lifting post that attach to overhead cranes.
