MOCAP’s line of masking protection products includes plugs, caps, tapes, discs and tubing available in a variety of materials, shapes and sizes. With such a comprehensive selection, the leading provider of protective products is confident it can satisfy each customer’s masking requirements, whether the application involves painting, powder coating, plating or e-coating.

The lineup includes:

  • High temperature vinyl caps and plugs: These low-cost, single-use masking products feature a flexible vinyl material that offers a secure seal on round and odd-shaped items. They can resist temperatures up to 246 degrees C (475 degrees F).
  • EPDM rubber caps and plugs: These products, reusable in most processes, are ideal for temperatures up to 246 degrees C (475 degrees F). The flexible EPDM rubber material allows them to seal round and odd-shaped items against powder coating, plating and e-coating processes. In addition, special high temperature resistant EPDM rubber material caps and plugs are chemical resistant and can operate in temperatures up to 149 degrees C (300 degrees F).
  • Silicone rubber caps and plugs: Also reusable in most processes, these products are ideal for applications exposed to high temperatures greater than 316 degrees C (600 degrees F), and offer a secure seal for round and odd-shaped items in powder coating, e-coating and chrome plating operations, as well as threaded and non-threaded masking applications.
  • Paper caps and plugs: An inexpensive option, these products are made from tough material that is flexible, recyclable and resistant to high temperatures up to 204 degrees C (400 degrees F). The single-use masking caps are ideal for painting and coating processes, and can be used to protect a thread or port during shipping/storage.
  • Tapes and discs: MOCAP also produces high temperature polyester and polyimide tapes and discs. Those made from polyester can resist temperatures up to 218 degrees C (425 degrees F) for one hour. Those made from polyimide can resist continuous temperatures up to 260 degrees C (500 degrees F) for one hour, or shorter exposure at 370 degrees C (700 degrees F). These tapes and masking dots are easily removed after use, leaving no residue.
  • Silicone rubber tubing: Extruded from a specially formulated silicone with a hardness rating of 60 Shore A, this tubing is heat stabilized to ensure re-use at temperatures up to 260 degrees C (500 degrees F). It is commonly used for masking studs, pins and other round objects that require a longer length than MOCAP’s standard length silicone caps.
