Tsubaki has a healthy track record of success stories in the automotive sector.

Tsubaki of Canada is the country’s premier source of chains for industrial use – and that includes automotive chain solutions. The automotive sector keeps people moving, and vehicles require chains that work reliably with strength and stamina. Tsubaki has a track record of success stories in this industry, helping automotive customers find the right products to keep production going smoothly.

Increasing lifespans of products, equipment

One example involved a manufacturer of auto components that was beginning to have problems with an oven it had been using for four years. This hi-feature oven, which could reach temperatures as high as 260 degrees Celsius, was used to heat-treat crankshafts. The company turned to the Tsubaki team, who had studied the application when the customer had just installed a competitor’s engineered class chain in the oven. Tsubaki had measured six strands of chain, created drawings, and documented the drawings and the chains’ proactive replacement date in the Tsubaki Advantage database. Now, following a reminder from the database that replacement was needed, a Tsubaki representative visited the workplace with the necessary information to replace the chain. The oven functioned flawlessly afterwards, and the customer achieved cost savings of $7,713.

Tsubaki’s automotive chain solutions also helped a company that had issues with a standard RS60 chain installed in its tire soaker drive. This chain lasted only nine months because of rust, caused by exposure to soap and water. When Tsubaki entered the picture, the company switched to a corrosion-resistance NEPTUNE chain, which increased the product life to more than four years – leading to a cost savings of $5,420.

In another case, a large automotive company was experiencing problems with cables installed in their weld robots. The robot movement caused the cables to run against each other, leading to failure between six weeks and six months. The company called Tsubaki for a solution to protect the cables. Tsubaki installed Robotrax with hi-flex bending cables, which increased the lifespan of the application five-fold. Total cost savings for the customer: $14,604.

With great automotive chain solutions, Tsubaki continues to save companies thousands.
