Designed to function and withstand abuse in demanding environments, Linemaster’s explosion-proof switches come in two groups – one for the medical sector, and one for general industrial tasks.

Divider bars between pedals

Both types have non-sparking aluminum housing and are available in single- or twin-pedal models to meet different user requirements. All two-pedal switches include divider bars between their pedals, to prevent the inadvertent pressing of both at the same time.

The industrial line consists of the most robust explosion-proof switches on the market. They are available in six designs (three in the 500 series, three in the 600 series) and are very popular in various tasks that require durability in demanding conditions. Linemaster creates each model with an aluminum foot guard for extra protection, with an integral base plate painted alert orange, plus an integral handle for easy transport. Each unit also includes a ¾-inch (14 NPT) threaded rigid metal conduit entry and mounting provisions in the base plate.

While the industrial 500 series is a splash-resistant solution, waterproof models are available in the 600 series. The 500 line has an IP41 rating, and the 600 line has an IP68 rating.

The medical explosion-proof switches are aesthetically appealing models equipped with aluminum base plates with non-skid conductive rubber base pads, in addition to integral handles. These black, high-quality units are long-lasting and can be easily manoeuvred, but are also sufficiently heavy to prevent their sliding around.

Not unlike the industrial category, the medical foot-switch line comes in both a 500 and 600 series, which have the same respective IP ratings as well. Each of these foot switches has been pre-wired with potted mating connector MS3102R-18-4PW, with a strain-relief MS-3057-10 or 10A cable clamp, while each of the two-pedal switches is wired with an electrical interlock.
