Its comprehensive Quality Assurance Program, managed by an extremely well-trained crew of skilled professionals, ensures the company never wavers from this standard. This department dedicates itself to making sure all products from L. & M. meet or exceed customers’ expectations for high quality every time – using a well-controlled manufacturing process backed up by calibrated machinery.

A strong quality policy

The L. & M. team approaches every project with a strong quality policy, launched to keep customer needs as a high priority. This policy requires all staff to commit themselves to improving process efficiency in a cost-effective way, with client satisfaction as a focused, constant goal. Management re-evaluates the Quality Assurance Program regularly to achieve constant improvement.

The quality-assurance team uses gauges, hardness testers, optical comparators, and other instruments calibrated as per NIST standards. This department also employs a Zygo Z-Mike laser micrometer – currently the most accurate non-contact bench-top micrometer available. The latest addition to the equipment inventory is an Oasis programmable laser vision inspection system, an accurate, efficient, non-contact device that operates like an optical comparator and can check more than one dimension simultaneously. The firm allows a combination of hands-on experience and equipment to meet all specifications, while sampling plans ensure controls before and during product runs.

The company develops these sampling plans as per ISO standards, as it has been ISO-certified for more than two decades and now complies with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standard. L. & M. makes sure it continues to quality for ISO approval with an annual surveillance audit, and this process is re-certified every three years.

The quality-assurance process begins before every single project, and it continues until customers receive their components. Every team member participates in the process at some stage, from upfront estimation through engineering and production to shipping the final product to the client.
