The four critical steps

L. & M. follows four critical steps in this process for every product, including components that include but are not limited to welding, assemblies, connectors, fittings, fasteners, bushings, washers, spacers, and threaded parts. These components serve almost all industries, including oil and gas, welding, healthcare, electrical, housing and the automotive sector. The four critical steps of the efficient design review process:

1. Initial review. The customer provides an initial design concept in samples or design prints to request a quote, which includes total volume of parts and, if applicable, release frequency for a stock and release program.
2. Design and estimate. The engineering department reviews the design and, if requested, offers feedback, including possible revisions that could improve the effectiveness or cost-efficiency of the products. The customer receives a quote from the sales team regarding pricing and required lead time.
3. First article approval. The company follows a first-article-approval process on all new production setups. L. & M. can offer a sample part for confirmation to the client before the full production run if desired. Certification and traceability are available if required.
4. Ongoing inspection. Everyone in the production process ensures that the process of sampling and continuing inspection is ongoing at every stage of production.
