Quality assurance is important to L. & M.

In creating custom-machined components for its customer base, L. & M. Precision Products Inc. adheres to a high standard of quality. The company has a comprehensive Quality Assurance Program to ensure that it never wavers from this strict standard. An exceptionally well trained quality-control team, made of a group of skilled professionals, manages this program. This department always dedicates itself to making sure that all products meet or surpass client expectations.

Re-evaluated on a regular basis

The L. & M. team uses an exceptionally well controlled process, backed up by calibrated equipment, as it approaches every project with a strong quality policy – launched to make sure that customer needs are always a high priority. The policy requires all staff to dedicate themselves to improving process efficiency in a cost-efficient way, with client satisfaction as a constant and focused goal. Aiming for constant improvement, management re-evaluates the Quality Assurance Program on a regular basis.

The quality-control team uses gauges, hardness testers, optical comparators, and other devices that are calibrated according to NIST standards. The department also employs a Zygo Z-Mike laser micrometer, which is currently the most accurate, non-contact bench-top micrometer available. This collectively allows for a blending of hands-on experience and equipment to comply with all specifications, while sampling plans ensure controls before and during product runs.

L. & M. develops these sampling plans as per ISO standards; it has been ISO-certified for more than two decades and currently meets the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standard. The company ensures it continues to qualify for this certification with an annual surveillance audit, and the ISO process is re-certified every three years to remain up to date.

The quality-control process begins before every project and continues until customers get their custom-machined components. Every L. & M. team member is involved in this process at some stage, from upfront estimation through engineering and production to shipping the final product to the client.
