L. & M. places strong value on workplace safety and environmental responsibility.

L. & M. Precision Products Inc. has worked hard for decades to earn its reputation for top custom metal components, precision-machined by skilled personnel. But great products and client service are not the only things that make the company a success. Businesses also need to be good corporate citizens, both to their employees and to the environment, to name two examples. L. & M. excels in this area as well, placing strong value on its ethical responsibilities.

Workplace safety and environmental protection

As a major Canadian producer of precision machined custom metal components, L. & M. dedicates itself to complying with all laws, standards, and regulations concerning occupational health and safety (oh&s) and environmental protection, staying up to date with any changes.

For example, L. & M. is committed to stay current with the latest requirements of Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). This organization is the province’s workers’ compensation board and has a strict compliance framework that supports employer efforts to follow oh&s law; it also takes disciplinary action on noncompliant employers. L. & M. also complies with the new “Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System” (WHMIS) 2015 requirements of “Safety Data Sheets” (SDS), and the company has trained its employees on the latest updates for this standard.

Another major ethical responsibility that L. & M. maintains is keeping the natural environment free from pollutants and toxins. As a manufacturer of custom metal components, the company stays transparent about the control of potentially harmful substances. Each year, L. & M. re-evaluates its use of materials and files a “National Pollutant Release Inventory” (NPRI) and a “ChemTrac” report for any reportable substances that meet or exceed the reporting thresholds. The company submitted its last “Toxic Reduction Act” (TRA) report in 2011, and currently, the next report is due at the end of this year. The federal Ministry of Environment’s “Hazardous Waste Information Network” has registered L. & M. for its liquid waste, which only licenced and approved companies can handle and process.

As L. & M. Precision Products continues to succeed on the quality of its products, it also continues to demonstrate its commitment to ethical business practices.
