The KINAX N702-INOX inclination transmitter

Camille Bauer Metrawatt AG makes its innovative measurement devices available in Canada via Mod-Tronic Instruments Ltd. This includes position transducers under the KINAX brand – like the KINAX N702-INOX absolute inclination transmitter, recommended for heavy-duty applications in rough environments because of its high mechanical strength and hermetically sealed stainless steel housing. This is a very robust unit that is available in a standard version and in one compatible with HART modems.

Fast and easy commissioning

These position transducers are optimally resistant against aggressive media like sea water and detergents, and the watertight, dust-proof housing meets the IP68 rating. The KINAX N702-INOX offers maximum installation flexibility due to its simple assembly by the synchro flange or mounting plate, highly flexible four-pole control line, and free parameterization through the control line.

Users get low life-cycle costs with this inclination transmitter, as it is quality-tested, accurate, safe, and maintenance-free. The N702-INOX offers a level of plus or minus 0.2 degrees in absolute measuring accuracy at 25 degrees Celsius, and it resists high mechanical strains with its robust design and high-quality materials. The flexible control cable allows a safe electrical connection. Another user advantage is fast and easy commissioning, with a standard synchro flange or mounting plate and a two-wire connection through the flexible control cable.

The measuring range is programmable between zero and 360 degrees, and the sense of rotation is adjustable for clockwise or counterclockwise turns. Other technical specifications: 12-bit resolution; mounting position perpendicular to the measurement object; weight of approximately 1.1 kilograms; water column of 30 metres; temperature range from -30 to 70 degrees Celsius; and relative humidity of less than 100 per cent.

The KINAX N702-INOX HART absolute inclination transmitter is also available from Mod-Tronic. This model has a highly flexible two-pole signal line with PUR sheath and free parameterization through a HART interface. Users can program this instrument through HART modems or a HART communicator. This is done by connecting the cable terminals of the modem or communicator directly to the 4-20-mA control line. Minimum/maximum value, zero position, and rotation sense can be programmed.
