Kellogg exec explains the benefits of working with Kronos

Kronos is helping thousands of customers in more than 100 countries manage their workforce in the cloud. The leading company does this by providing solutions for time and attendance, scheduling, absence management, human resources and payroll, hiring and labour analytics.

Kellogg Company is a Kronos customer. In the November/December issue of Food Manufacturing magazine, John Whitaker, a senior business analyst in the global IT commercial business solutions division of Kellogg, explained how the company is able to manage a distributed workforce of more than 6,800 employees across 19 U.S. facilities with the help of Kronos.  

Though Kellogg had been a Kronos customer for years, in 2013, the company expanded its use of Kronos products — specifically using its time and attendance, absence management and employee scheduling solutions, in addition to its InTouch time clocks. Kronos and its partner, Passport Corporation, also worked together to develop software to mobilize user data entry from a smartphone. This solution allows users to capture labour and production information on the spot, whether online or offline, wherever they are. This solution is an app that runs on Kellogg-issued mobile devices, which gives managers and employees the capability to enter and review their data in real time. 

Kronos solutions have given Kellogg better insights into managing time, vacation and sick accruals, and even adds GPS verification for route accuracy, Whitaker said. It also allows managers to better manage remote employees. 

One of the top benefits of Kronos products, said Whitaker, is that it has reduced the administrative time for employees, allowing them to focus on selling Kellogg products.
