The Vibroscreen Model K30-1-SS 76-centimetre gap-free sanitary screener by Kason

Firing Industries Ltd. recently began carrying processing solutions by Kason Corporation – including the Vibroscreen Model K30-1-SS 76-centimetre gap-free sanitary screener. This device features sanitary stainless steel construction, gap-free screen frames with quick-disconnect clamps, flexible quick-action connectors at the inlet and outlet, a Clamshell lid, and other features.

A key advantage of this screener is that it meets the strict standards of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), plus cGMP, 3-A, and USDA standards.

Fast disassembly and cleaning

The Model K30-1-SS has a removable sanitary magnet at the discharge spout, and the external, interlocking flange configuration of each screen frame envelops the support ring of the screen, so the screen’s wire mesh extends to the frame’s interior walls. The design eliminates the gap between screen ring and frame wall, which lowers the chances of contamination from bacteria growth and boosts sanitizing efficiency. This makes the screener ideal for pharmaceutical, food-processing, and dairy use and other applications with a risk of cross-contamination.

Screens are mounted to support rings with FDA-approved epoxy and sealed with FDA-approved gasket material. They are available from Firing Industries with mesh-tolerance certificates. The wire-mesh screening material comes in 304, 316, and “magnetic” 400-series stainless steel; if this steel is broken, it can be captured along with ferrous material contaminants by a sanitary high-strength magnet at the discharge outlet.

Due to the Clamshell design, gas pistons can hold and raise the upper frame in the open position, providing easy access for rapid screen changes and thorough wash-down of all interior surfaces. This lowers downtime while allowing one user to perform what was formerly a two-person task, depending on screen diameter. The flexible connectors with sanitary BFM fittings snap into place inside the spigot rims of the material inlet and discharge spouts, enabling fast disassembly and cleaning.

Kason builds this screener with continuous weld seams and material contact surfaces polished to a sanitary finish and with a four-post open base with a stainless steel motor enclosure, which allows wash-down of the underside and plant floor.
