KabelSchlepp manufactures guideway protection systems, carrier support and guidance systems, and strain-relief systems.

A member of the Tsubaki Group, KabelSchlepp is the original inventor of the modern cable and hose-carrier chain. The company has led this field in innovative products for well over half a century. Among KabelSchlepp’s many great offerings is a line of accessories – both cable accessories, and those for hose-carrier systems.

With three categories available – guideway protection systems, carrier support and guidance systems, and strain-relief systems – KabelSchlepp continues to supply top solutions.

Standard or custom sizes

KabelSchlepp guideway protection systems are cable accessories available in standard or custom sizes. Options include machine-way wipers, KS telescopic box cover wipers, and apron way covers. Machine-way wipers use KabelSchlepp’s unique three-point sealing system, developed for optimal hot-chip, debris, and fluid protection for sensitive guideways. The blades are mounted on solid, lightweight, non-corrosive aluminum frames.

KS wipers are a popular sealing and wiping system for metal telescoping box covers, with replacement wiper blades, chip covers, and back supports that can be mounted to common box covers from any manufacturer. Apron way covers are an inexpensive solution for potential repairs or replacement, with high-strength aluminum extrusions that offer positive protection of machine ways from damaging agents like hot chips and abrasives.

KabelSchlepp’s carrier support and guidance systems, for long travel applications, also come in three types. First, stationary support rollers substantially increase travel capabilities in applications in which the cable system’s unsupported span is exceeded. Second, support trays ensure that applications have even, flat, clear surfaces for safe and optimal operation. The systems are typically made of zinc-plated steel. The third option, guide channels, are a cost-effective solution for guiding and supporting systems in long-travel gliding applications, mounted to the ground or on supporting structures.

The last category of cable accessories is easy-to-install strain-relief systems. Cable strain relief depends on the type and length of the cable and the installation position. For carriers with upper and lower trough sliding on each other, installation height of the strain relief must not exceed the chain link height. Options include DIN rails/U-channels, saddle-type clamps, SZL systems, and strain-relief comb strips.
