SAB makes four models of self-cleaning filters.

The inventory is always expanding at John Brooks Company Limited, which is introducing a new line of automatic self cleaning filters by SAB. With a growing demand for cooling and processing water, businesses need higher efficiency in filtration and protecting downstream plant equipment. There are four of these SAB filters available – including the manufacturer’s latest development, the F490 Multi X expandable automatic self-cleaning filter.

Smart, modular cast design

The SAB F451 filter is an extremely compact unit with a highly intelligent design that enables recovery of 30-40 per cent of floor space within a facility. It comes in different materials to suit varying requirements, like river, process, sea, or chlorinated water. Also available is the F480 model, which offers higher flow performance and a small footprint. This unit prolongs the service life of the full facility, including all equipment. The third of these SAB self-cleaning filtration units is the F450, which can handle filtration of aggressive liquids, desalination, and industrial process or power-station cooling water.

The F490 Multi X series of self cleaning filters blends innovative Multi-Bernoulli filter technology with a smart, modular cast design that provides unique technical advantages and short delivery times. SAB developed the Multi-Bernoulli filter in 2010 to meet the rising industry demand for higher volume flows and finer filtration. The design integrates multiple strainers in one housing and uses the benefits of the proven Bernoulli-based cleaning principle, like low flushing pressure and unparalleled cleaning efficiency.

The SAB F490 offers a connection from four to 32 inches and a flow rate from 50 to 8,000 cubic metres per hour. Its strainer finess ranges from 40 micrometres to ten millimetres, while its operating pressure goes from ten to 232 pounds per square inch. The shell is made of stainless steel, while the internals contain stainless steel, super duplex, monel, hastelloy, and titanium. All four of these self cleaning filters comply with international safety standards.
