Jacob’s Food Grade Line of tubing keeps food products pure

The Food Grade Line of Jacob tubing is recommended for food, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.

Among the processing equipment that Firing Industries supplies is Jacob’s tubing. Many customers use it for food-processing applications, in which foreign matter is not permissible. So Jacob has developed its Food Grade Line – the first modular pipework system that complies with the requirements of both EC 1935/2004 and the United States’ Food and Drug Administration. This sets a new standard in food safety.

Optimum design and material

Jacob’s Food Grade Line is also recommended for transport of pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and other sensitive goods that must follow the strictest standards of safety and cleanliness. This is a modular pipework system made of stainless steel, consisting of more than 3,000 products that meet the highest requirements for food processing. The manufacturer has carefully tested all the components that come into contact with food and optimized their design and material.

The stainless steel used in the components that come into contact with products features a minimum grade of V2A/1.4301. This goes for every single component, even the smallest screws. In addition, the heat-sealed U-shaped seals are made without any adhesives – like almost all of Jacob’s products. This is part of how the Food Grade Line meets both European and American food standards, while being extremely resistant to mechanical loads, high temperatures, chemicals, and solvents.

The standard Food Grade Line is already very innovative, but Firing Industries also offers Jacob’s new Detectable Design Line – an intelligent upgrade of the Food Grade group. In the Detectable Design Line, all seals are made of silicone that is fused with miniscule metallic particles, which means that metal detectors can spot them. If a ring, or part of one, gets into the production line, a detector can find it immediately, so users can remove it reliably. Detectable Design ensures no contaminants find their way into sensitive products – maintaining product purity every time.

Jacob’s Detectable Design Line now includes U-shaped gaskets, ring seals, flat gaskets, rubber covers, compensators, and seals for valves, distributors, and pipe regulators – making the Food Grade Line the ultimate modular pipework system.
