Zimmerman rail systems from Dobco

Dobco Equipment Ltd. supplies Ingersoll Rand (IR) ergonomic material-handling systems, under the Zimmerman brand name, across Canada. A good rail system is the backbone of every one of these solutions, and Zimmerman industrial rail systems offer many key benefits. They are lightweight and ergonomic, with less than one per cent rolling resistance.

In addition, they provide precision running surfaces available in aluminum, steel, or stainless steel. Zimmerman ergonomic handling systems come in three varieties.

Meeting all international safety standards

These rail systems are modular and flexible, and they are bolted together without any welding required. They also provide clean, maintenance-free operation without any necessary lubrication, and IR designs them to meet or exceed all international safety standards. The profiles are available in five different sizes to comply with the various needs of Zimmerman ergonomic handling systems. The design minimizes dirt and grime accumulation on internal rolling surfaces to make rolling easier.

One category of IR Zimmerman industrial rail systems is ceiling-supported workstation bridge cranes, which are ideal for high-volume production environments with limited floor space and have capacities as high as 3,000 pounds. These can mount parallel or perpendicular to overhead support steel, and each provides rectangular coverage for a single workstation or a full assembly line with multiple bridge cranes.

The second kind of Zimmerman industrial rail systems is a line of freestanding workstation bridge cranes. These systems are floor-supported, which eliminates the requirement for overhead support structures. Lindapter adjustable toe clamps make it simpler for the operator to align the runways for smoother function. The cranes have a rugged design with gusseted column base plates, and IR can custom-design structures to meet specific needs. Freestanding workstation bridge cranes are available from Dobco in ¼-, ½-, or one-ton capacities and in four-, six-, eight-, ten, or 12-column designs to cover lengths as much as 105 feet or more.

And third, IR manufactures Zimmerman monorails, each of which provides a single-axis transfer, and curved sections are available for navigating obstructions. These systems are certified by the Monorail Manufacturers Association, as all Zimmerman rail systems are.
