process piping systems

Xirtec piping systems come in two materials.

For the best selection available of plastic pipe, valve, and fitting systems, Canadian businesses are wise to rely on IPEX. The inventory includes the Xirtec® brand of process piping systems – specifically, PVC Schedule 40 and 80 and CPVC Schedule 40 and 80 systems. Customers can meet all of their process-system requirements with these lines of pipes, fittings, flanges, strainers, and valves, which provide the performance that users expect in challenging industrial environments.

The IPEX System Advantage

These Xirtec lines from IPEX are high-performance vinyl systems designed to meet the temperature, pressure, and size requirements of piping systems used in chemical processes and other applications. Among their advantages are top resistance to photo-degradation and creep stress, immunity to oxidation, and suitability for use with a broad variety of acids, alcohols, salts, and halogens. Offering extended life, outstanding temperature range, great underground performance, and strong chemical resistance, Xirtec systems are a low-maintenance alternative to common and exotic metal systems.

Used successfully in process piping systems for more than six decades, PVC is the most commonly specified of all thermoplastic piping materials. The maximum service temperature for Xirtec® PVC is 140°F in pressure applications with occasional exposure to boiling water (212°F) in drainage applications. With a design stress of 2,000 psi @ 73°F, PVC used in Xirtec PVC pipe and fittings has one of the highest long-term strengths of all major thermoplastic material used for piping. Available in Schedule 40 and 80 with sizes ranging from 1/4″ to 24″, as well as SDR in sizes ranging from 1/2″ to 48″.

Xirtec® CPVC pipe and fittings has a design stress of 2,000 psi and maximum service temperature of 200°F under pressure with occasional exposure to boiling water (212°F) in drainage applications. Available in Schedule 40 and 80 with sizes ranging from 1/2″ to 16″.

The Xirtec line works for numerous industrial applications, like plant chemical distribution lines, water and wastewater, acid systems, steel wire plants, bleach lines, pharmaceuticals, fish farming, aquariums and swimming pools, irrigation systems, circuit-board manufacturing, semiconductors, and much more.
