IPEX double containment systems prevent leaks and other piping issues

IPEX offers six brands of double containment systems.

Many working environments require fail-safe piping systems with no leaks or safety issues. IPEX offers piping solutions to fill this need – particularly double containment systems. These integrated thermoplastic piping systems are crucial to preventing many safety and environmental problems. Wide variety of materials

IPEX understands the importance of well-designed and -installed double containment systems, with more than 25 years of experience designing and creating these solutions by using a wide variety of materials. The company has well-informed sales, technical, and engineering teams who work closely with customers to determine relevant attributes, uses, and installation methods for these products.

Six types of double containment systems are available from IPEX. Brand names include Guardian, Encase, CustomGuard, Clear-Guard, Drain-Guard, and Centra-Guard. Of these, Guardian systems have been the industry benchmark in pressure and drainage for a broad range of acids, alcohols, salts, and halogens for years. Guardian solutions are available in tough-grade Xirtec 140 PVC or tougher high-temperature CPVC, and their patented Centra-Lock design minimizes leaks and reduces costs.

Encase Acid Waste systems use polypropylene piping, both inside and outside, for corrosion resistance over a wide temperature range. Their electrofusion fittings offer heavy-gauge resistance wire moulded into their sockets. The microprocessor-controlled fusion system allows the user to make highly consistent joints in minutes, and the modular components are prefabricated at the IPEX plant.

CustomGuard custom-designed and -fabricated systems are recommended for applications with mechanical, chemical, or thermal requirements that IPEX off-the-shelf solutions cannot meet. With CustomGuard, IPEX double-containment specialists can build a unique system that takes chemical compatibility, material and installation costs, life expectancy, and turnaround time into account. Clear-Guard is a fail-safe, pressure-rated clear containment system that enables easy leak detection.

The other two brands: Drain-Guard, which provides safe transport of sanitary or storm drainage in hospitals, museums, libraries, theatres, and many other public buildings; and Centra-Guard, which is a patented electronic low-point system that immediately detects and locates leaks. IPEX can equip all of the other systems with its patented Centra-Guard leak detection, attaching sensors to the containment pipe in zines to detect leaks into interstitial space instantly.
