The IPEX Encase system, part of the company’s double containment offerings, is an off-the-shelf system that uses polypropylene piping throughout to ensure high corrosion and chemical resistance over a broad temperature range. In addition, using the same material inside and out eliminates differential expansion problems and maintains system integrity. 

The patented system features an electrofusion fitting with heavy-gauge resistance wire moulded into the socket, providing a safe, reliable and cost-effective method to convey chemical waste under gravity-flow conditions. All site joints are made by electrofusion using the Enfusion handheld unit. 

Another bonus is that the primary pipe can be inspected and tested prior to closing the secondary joint — a feature that is not possible with butt-welded systems. In fact, any suspect primary joints can be refused prior to final closure of the secondary pipe. 

The Encase system’s modular components are entirely prefabricated in the factory. The only joining required is the fusion of couplings to pipe and fittings. 

Encase is compatible with all common types of leak detection systems. Available in both flame-retardant and non-flame-retardant PP, the systems come in sizes ranging from 1-½ to eight inches.
