Increasingly stringent government and industry standards, along with the widespread public desire to minimize the impact of chemical waste on the environment, continues to make compliance a vital concern for industry. IPEX can help. For more than 30 years, the Oakville, Ont.-based company has been supplying industrial companies throughout North America with high-quality, easy-to-install acid waste systems designed to handle a wide variety of chemicals and pH levels.

The company’s comprehensive line of dedicated acid waste conveyance, neutralization and monitoring systems are widely specified in North America, recognized for their performance and reliability. The lineup includes:

  • Enfield: This electrofusion acid waste system gives users the proven corrosion resistance of polypropylene, along with the company’s patented, state-of-the-art electrofusion system. With Enfield electrofusion fittings, a heavy-gauge resistance wire made of chrome/nickel alloy is integrally moulded into the socket using a proprietary injection moulding process. The wire is heated by a microprocessor-controlled fusion control unit, which creates a high-integrity bond between the pipe and fitting in a matter of minutes. Approved for acid waste applications in accordance with NSF, CSA, IAPMO, SBCCI, ASTM F1412, Enfield systems are available in Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 pipe sizes from 1-½ inches to 12 inches IPS.
  • Labline: This acid waste system delivers the proven corrosion resistance of the company’s specially formulated polypropylene, and features a state-of-the-art mechanical joining system using no-heat Elastolive for high-integrity joints in seconds. Ideal for modular systems that need to be periodically reconfigured, Labline heavy-duty all thermoplastic fittings are designed to be reusable should the system layout change. In addition, the fittings are designed to prevent pipe pull-out and leaks due to misalignment, giving users unsurpassed versatility in designing the acid waste system. Approved for acid waste applications in accordance with NSF, CSA, IAPMO, SBCCI, ASTM F1412, Labline systems are available in Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 pipe sizes from 1-½ inches to four inches IPS.
  • Plenumline: The next generation, E-84 compliant Plenumline system is made of flame-retardant PVDF for extremely demanding applications such as return-air plenums. With Plenumline, time-consuming methods associated with conventional heavy and brittle systems are replaced by a proven mechanical joint system that takes only 30 seconds to complete.

The range of IPEX integrated total solutions for acid waste applications also includes Neutratank neutralization tanks, Neutrasystem2 pH monitoring system and Floway drains, as well as Encase double containment systems.
