The MBS parallelogram load cell by Interface

Durham Instruments distributes an unmatched selection of industrial test and measurement solutions from a wide variety of manufacturers – including Interface Force Measurement Solutions. Highly recommended for medical and robotics applications, the Interface MBS parallelogram load cell is a lightweight device made of aluminum and with force capacities from 9.8 to 445 newtons.

Compatible with both imperial and metric force measurement, the MBS parallelogram load cell has both nonlinearity and hysteresis accuracy of plus or minus 0.02 per cent full scale.

Wide compensated, operating temperature ranges

This innovative load cell also has accuracy creep of plus or minus 0.025 per cent RO in 30 minutes. It functions with a compensated temperature range from 15 to 72 degrees Celsius and an operating temperature range from -50 to 93 degrees Celsius; the temperature effect on output is plus or minus 0.01 per cent load, while the temperature effect on zero is plus or minus 0.01 per cent full scale. Other technical specifications of the MBS parallelogram load cell:

  • Rated output (nominal): two millivolts per volt
  • Zero balance: plus or minus 0.06 millivolts per volt
  • Bridge resistance (nominal): 1,000 ohms
  • Excitation voltage: 20 VDC MAX
  • Insulation resistance: 500 megohms

  • Safe overload: 250 foot-pounds
  • Material: aluminum
  • Cable length: 31 centimetres

The MBS parallelogram load cell is available with 17 different capacities, ranging from 0.6 to 45.7 millimetres. Also available are versions with cable and overload protection. Other options include cable length, standardized output, customized calibration, a connector added to the cable, a special temperature range, and a transducer electronic data sheet. Interface also offers additional instrumentation to serve as accessories to the MBS.
