Input modules by Brüel & Kjær cover many measurement applications

Durham Instruments is Canada’s source for measurement innovation by Brüel & Kjær, like the LAN-XI range of input modules. The core of this group includes the Type 3050 multi-purpose four- and six-channel series, designed to cover an unmatched spectrum of sound and vibration measurement applications. These devices come in two basic variants, allowing a choice between four and six high-precision channels with an input range from DC to 51.2 kilohertz.

Highly flexible data-acquisition modules

Among the most flexible data-acquisition modules available, the Type 3050 series works just as well as a lone-module system or as part of a large LAN-XI measurement system. Each unit has interchangeable front panels that offer users the flexibility to work with a broad variety of transducers. These input modules are recommended for the following use scenarios:

• measurement front-end module for PULSE measurement and analysis software;
• front end for PC-based data recorder Type 7708;
• single-module measurements;
• multi-module measurements/distributed system;
• standalone recording (no PC) using LAN-XI Notar software; and
• wireless front end for Sonoscout.

Relevant applications include noise-source identification, operating deflecting shape, modal analysis, satellite qualification tests, high-frequency beam forming, and other high-channel-count measurements in sound and vibration.

Brüel & Kjær manufactures several designs of input modules in the LAN-XI range of data-acquisition hardware. This versatile system of modular hardware can be used as a standalone, single-module front end, as part of a distributed module setup, or collected in five- or 11-module frames. This hardware can work with PULSE LabShop, BK Connect, and Test for I-deas. Each has a rugged design, ideal for field use, but is also a plug-and-play device that can easily be reconfigured in various setups.

The Type 3050 series works well in many industries. Durham Instruments deems these modules suitable for use in general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, forestry, education, the medical field, the military, mining, packaging, power generation, alternative energy, transportation, and research and development.
