The paint vortex for airspray guns is SAMES KREMLIN's latest liquid spraying technology.

As a renowned source of industrial finishing solutions for a variety of sectors, SAMES KREMLIN has mastered many forms of liquid spraying technology over the past 94 years. Since inventing Europe’s first airspray gun in 1924, the company has offered many types of liquid spraying, including its own technological developments like Airmix.

Another form of spraying technology that SAMES KREMLIN has invented is the paint vortex for spray guns. This recent innovation is the latest enhancement to paint spraying in finishing.

Produces a swirling effect

What makes the paint vortex a unique form of liquid spraying is the swirling effect it produces. This allows the paint to leave the nozzle in a helical pattern shape, thus improving the homogeneity of the film build. This vortex effect enables superior application of the shape of the fan pattern onto the surface of the substrate that is to be coated, and the better homogeneity that results eliminates any blotching effect.

Another major advantage of using the paint vortex is better transfer efficiency on complex parts. This form of spraying results in a non-linear fan pattern, which causes the paint particles to coat every area of the substrate – even the edges and grooves of parts with more complex shapes and different levels. With paint-vortex technology, users can be sure that no area of a complex part is neglected in the finishing process.

Still another reason to rely on the paint vortex for finishing is the reduced paint booth maintenance that results. The swirling vortex effect increases the distance that the particles travel between the nozzle and the component. This slows down the paint’s speed and thus eliminates any bounce-back effect onto the part, leading to a better finish.

In this video, SAMES KREMLIN global marketing manager Thibault Cognon describes how vortex technology works. (Although he is speaking French, there are visual explanations in English.)

SAMES KREMLIN can help manufacturers finish parts with many other types of liquid spraying as well, from conventional and LVLP airsprays to electrostatic and micro-spraying.
