The QX ETS fastening tool by IR, available from Dobco

For well over a century, Ingersoll Rand (IR) has manufactured an unmatched range of construction and assembly equipment, which is available in Canada from Dobco Equipment. IR produces the QX Series of fastening tools for assembly tasks, including the unique QX ETS, which makes it easy for users to reduce torque reaction.

Like all of the QX Series, IR’s QX ETS offers high levels of simplicity, capability, and flexibility for assembly applications.

Control and ergonomics, not compromise

IR understands that reducing torque reaction with fastening tools does not need to be very complicated. This is why the QX ETS has all of the capabilities of the other tools in the series, but minus torque reaction. The device gives users control and ergonomics with no compromise.

One key advantage of the QX ETS is its simple setup. On top of standard direct drive mode, the user can independently program each tool configuration to use one of three available single-parameter ETS modes: ergonomic mode, with low energy pulses for hard joints or difficult arm, wrist, and tool angles; performance mode, an all-purpose mode with medium pulses; and productivity mode, the quickest mode, with high pulses for soft joints or high production rates.

Other notable features of these fastening tools from Dobco:

  • Ergonomically enhanced motor-control algorithm, which significantly reduces the average force that the user experiences during tightening tasks;
  • Red highlights that give operators a clear indication of ETS tool identity, as opposed to other QX tools;
  • Constantly flashing blue light above the keypad, which assures the user whether the ETS is active;
  • Common software and battery platform for simple integration;
  • Three variations (QXN, QXC, and QXX) available in pistol grip, low torque angle, and high torque angle; and
  • Onboard pulse counter that supports proper optimization and application of ETS tools on ideal applications (i.e., ten or fewer pulses per cycle).

In addition to ETS, this tool is compatible with USB and ICS. All devices in the QX series help users take total control of the fastening process, regardless of the application.
