Durham Instruments partners with great manufacturers like Brüel & Kjær to supply a wide range of test and measurement devices. For example, the B&K 2245 industrial sound level meter is a robust, waterproof, dust-resistant tool that is perfect for use in work environments that involve grit, grime, or bad weather.

The user can easily connect the B&K 2245 to a mobile phone via Wi-Fi, enabling operation from a convenient location away from the sound field with a mobile-app control interface.

Noise Partner already installed

Compliant with the IP55 standard, this industrial sound level meter is a versatile device that suits myriad applications. According to Durham Instruments, the B&K 2245 is suitable for use in the general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food-processing, forestry, education, medical, military, mining, packaging, power, alternative-energy, and transportation industries, and also in research and development.

The B&K 2245 comes with the Noise Partner app already installed. This app is recommended for simple broadband measurements, general-purpose sound-pressure-level measurements, or basic occupational, product, and environmental noise measurements, and users require minimal training. After downloading the app to a Smartphone, the user can control its capabilities wirelessly and embed pictures, text or voice notes, and videos with measurements. Noise Partner software enables the transfer of information to PCs, either wirelessly with with a supplied USB cable.

This industrial sound level meter enhances several applications and scenarios, such as checking sound-pressure levels (to ensure that fire alarms meet regulations, for example), broadband measurements that require instruments that comply with special standards, and simple product testing to ensure other safety compliance.

Other major features: single measurement range from 15.2 to 140 decibels from typical noise floor to maximum level, A-weighted; integrated GPS for time and location; colour LDC with a bright, clean layout, with important data displayed with a clear indication of measurement status with colour header; measurement-status light ring, visible from any angle; built-in Li-Ion batter for more than 14 hours of operation; 16 gigabytes of built-in storage for measurement and annotation; and integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy for connection to mobile and PC apps.
