Hytrol’s ProSort 400 designed for high speeds and long life

When product diverting needs to be both positive and gentle, Hytrol has the answer. Its ProSort 400 is a heavy-duty sliding shoe sorter designed for high-speed applications — up to 600 feet per minute — where both positive and gentle diverting of products is required. 

Products are transported on anodized aluminum slats where at a predetermined location, divert shoes move diagonally across the conveyor to push the product onto a take-away conveyor. 

Thanks to its highly engineered divert switch, the ProSort 400 may be configured for diverting products to the right- or left-hand side of the sorter. Also, it may be configured for diverting at 30 degrees when close divert centres are important, or 22 degrees when high-speed is required. The divert switch, which can easily be removed, features precisely timed switch operation. In addition, it has radiused components for quiet operation, and is pneumatically operated for low maintenance. All of these features also help to extend the product’s service life. 

The system includes a standard variable speed drive for optimizing sorter operation during peak and non-peak throughput periods. The drive is shaft-mounted for low maintenance and simplicity.  

The features go on and on — from flight chains fitted with precision bearings for high speed and low horsepower, to a high grip belt, to heavy-duty bearings for long lengths and high speed.  

ProLogix is integrated into the system for fast and trouble-free startup, consistent and reliable sortation, as well as built-in diagnostics and statistics.  

The ProSort 400 is available in five standard widths, making it suitable for sorting almost any product in a range of sizes and weights, including electronics, groceries, pharmaceuticals, clothing and building supplies.
