Hytrol’s Gen3 improves on the advanced EZLogic Accumulation System

The Gen3 is the latest development in the EZLogic Accumulation System — the most advanced zero-pressure accumulation system in the world. New technologies have been incorporated into the system to make installation, operation and maintenance easier. 

Gen3 features and functionality

In addition to ease of use, the Gen3 offers a number of features such as dynamic zone allocation. This means EZLogic will adjust the conveyor zone length automatically to suit the length of the carton being conveyed. The result is increased conveyor efficiency, carton throughput, accumulation density and system flexibility. This capability allows zones to be set for the smallest carton size, providing the maximum possible efficiency. As opposed to fixed accumulated systems, dynamic zone allocation enables longer cartons to be introduced at any time without issues.

The Gen3 offers a number of functions to enhance product flow. For instance, the system has two modes of operation: singulation mode and slug mode. In singulation mode, products separate while travelling down the conveyor and when released from the conveyor, resulting in a one zone-length gap between products. In slug mode, products do not separate, even when accumulation has been activated at the discharge end, providing higher carton throughput. 

When in the slug mode of operation, an EZLogic controller is used to provide jam protection. If the controller senses a package for longer than six seconds, it accumulates products in the upstream zone to avoid a pile-up. The zone where the jam was detected will continue to run, often dislodging the product without the need for assistance.

Another advantage of the Gen3 is its sleep feature. If an EZLogic controller does not detect a product after a set period of time, the controller stops the zone. This reduces noise and roller wear.
