Hytrol has upgraded its ABEZ live roller conveyor with new features

Hytrol Conveyor Company has been a recognized name in the conveyor industry for more than 60 years, and Norpak Handling continues to be a proud Integration Partner with Hytrol, making its products available in Canada. Among Hytrol’s innovations is the Model ABEZ, a live roller conveyor for tasks requiring accumulation of items with no buildup of line pressure.

Hytrol has recently upgraded the ABEZ live roller conveyor with added features. The conveyor’s singulation feature enables the easy removal of products from any location on it.

Divided into different accumulation zones

ABEZ is part of Hytrol’s line of EZLogic conveyors, which uses a method of zero-pressure control that combines the sensing accuracy of photo-electrics with discrete electronic logic control. The ABEZ live roller conveyor is a medium-duty flat belt driven conveyor. The conveyor can operate in singulation or slug mode, meaning that products can be either separated or kept in groups during conveyance or release. Cascaded slug release is another option; this function enables a momentary delay in the release of each accumulation zone.

The ABEZ conveyor is available from Norpak in five different accumulation zone lengths (12″, 18″, 24″, 30″, and 36″). Each of these zones extracts power from a flat drive belt running the full length of the conveyor. Accumulation is achieved by lowering the belt away from the tread rollers pneumatically, which halts the progress of products in the accumulation zone. The conveyor’s EZLogic Zone Controllers sense the items presence and control their accumulation and release from the zone.

With Hytrol’s EZLogic Dynamic Zone Allocation, the ABEZ roller conveyor’s zone length is automatically adjusted to accommodate the length of the package being moved. The conveyor includes a standard centre drive, a motor that runs from ½ to 2 horsepower, and four brake rollers in each accumulation zone, while optional MS-type adjustable floor supports are available. Each linear foot of this conveyor can handle a maximum load of 150 pounds. Overall frame widths range from 18″ to 42″; the bed measures 6½ inches deep by 12 gauge formed steel channel frame powder painted.
