The Teledyne Hastings HVG-2020A vacuum gauge, from Durham Instruments

Teledyne Hastings test and measurement equipment is available via the Durham Instruments inventory of industrial solutions – such as the innovative HVG-2020A vacuum gauge. This highly flexible digital device serves as a media-isolated, gas-composition-independent, piezo-resistive gauge that provides accurate pressure measurement to users through the rough vacuum region.

Easy to install, the HVG-2020A digital gauge offers both analog and digital output, for easy integration into process control.

Ideal substitute for capacitance manometer

This device is recommended for such applications as rough vacuum monitoring, semiconducting, laser systems, chemical research, air sampling, central vacuum monitoring, oil reprocessing, medical research, and other applications in various industries. Durham Instruments deems the HVG-2020A suitable for use in general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, education, packaging, power generation, alternative energy, and transportation.

With its optional display that provides several different views and modes of operation, this vacuum gauge gives the user a choice among a broad variety of output signals. The HVG-2020A is the ideal substitute for a more pricey capacitance manometer, with a digital output that can include RS232 and RS 485 via a small jack located on top of the instrument. Some models also have USB connections, which make connection and operation simpler. Also available from Teledyne Hastings is a free Windows data-acquisition software, for data logging of this digital gauge.

Other key features and specifications of the HVG-2020A vacuum gauge:

  • a range of 0.1 to 1,000 Torr;
  • an accuracy of plus or minus (0.1 per cent of reading plus ½ Torr);
  • wetted materials (304 and 316 stainless steel) for media isolation;
  • 0-1 VDC, 0-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC linear;
  • 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA linear;
  • RS232/RS485;
  • status LEDs;
  • multiple views, including pressure versus time plot, bar graph, and set-point status;
  • NIST traceable calibration; and
  • a certificate/data-sheet option.
