How HARTING Canada has maintained its growth during uncertain times

HARTING celebrated its 75th anniversary last year.

HARTING Canada is an affiliate of the HARTING Technology Group, a global corporation that manufactures state-of-the-art connectivity solutions. Over the previous fiscal year, the family-owned parent company maintained a trend of positive growth in spite of the global pandemic. There were variations in different world regions regarding the company’s growth. Sales rose by nine per cent in Asia, for example, and 15 per cent in the Americas. But they remained stable in most of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and they decreased in Germany. Overall, HARTING created 205 new jobs globally, an increase of 3.9 per cent. As of Sept. 30, the corporation was employing 2,604 people in Germany and 2,869 workers elsewhere.

A fast and flexible response to the COVID-19 global pandemic helped HARTING maintain growth. The team made employee protection one of its top priorities, along with the supply of customers that support critical markets. The company remained a reliable partner with high-profile manufacturers of medical and respiratory equipment with customer-specific cable assemblies that HARTING supplies.

The company employs a Coronavirus pandemic team that evaluates the developments on a daily basis and makes recommendations or takes necessary measures. HARTING will closely monitor the course of the global pandemic, offering free COVID-19 tests in certain clinics and free masks for employees.

Another factor in the company’s growth is a focus on such innovations as DC industry, single-pair Ethernet (SPE), and e-mobility. HARTING is driving these areas forward with high speed. It is contributing to a sustainable, carbon-dioxide-reduced future with decentralized energy storage for mobile applications. SPE has become the chosen interface for Industrial Single Pair by several standards bodies.

Still other contributing factors to HARTING’s success include a renewed high investment volume and a 75th-anniversary festive ceremony on Sept. 1 in Minden, Germany. At this rate, HARTING should still be a global force in another 75 years.
