EXAIR is the premier North American source of compressed-air equipment, including several models of digital air flowmeters. Most innovative is the Hot Tap series of digital flowmeters, designed to enable installation when compressed-air pipes are under pressure. These instruments are available in a wireless version or with a data logger.
By eliminating the requirement to isolate and remove pressure from piping, these Hot Tap digital flowmeters both reduce installation time and maintain workplace safety.
Sound muffler that stops debris
Each of these devices incorporates two valves through which the measuring probes pass, with a sound muffler that collects chips from the drilling process while it also prevents installation debris from entering the air stream and minimizes noise exposure. The first step towards identifying areas with high compressed-air use and compressed-air leaks, and towards optimizing air use, is to measure the compressed air. They are available in sizes from two to eight inches for schedule 40 iron pipes, or two to six inches for Type L copper.
One model has a data logger installed directly to it, allowing users to configure and record flow rates from once per second to once every 12 hours. This Hot Tap flowmeter takes an equally short amount of installation time as standard meters do. The digital display shows the precise amount of compressed air used, and the data logger records the air-use history, making it easier to identify expensive leaks or inexpensive air products. No cutting, welding, adjustment, or calibration is necessary.
Hot Tap digital flowmeters with wireless capability are a simple way to monitor compressed-air consumption and waste over a ZigBee wireless mesh network. These models are configured to prevent unwanted joining upon the network and provide encryption of communication within the network. Each unit is easy to install, with no moving parts, and monitoring software is provided at no extra cost.
The flowmeters are compliant with European safety standards, including CE and RoHS. They ship in three-to-five days from EXAIR.
Headquartered in Cincinnati, EXAIR designs and manufactures an unmatched selection of industrial compressed-air solutions. The company turns 40 years old this year.
