With this system, a compact installation for continuous mixing and agglomeration of powder with liquids, manufacturers can enhance flowability, wettability, dispersibility, bulk density, and product appearance with cutting-edge agglomeration technology.

The Flexomix agglomeration uses a potent blend of two proven technologies by Hosokawa Micron, the Flexomix continuous mixer/agglomerator and the Schugi fluid bed dryer and cooler.

The ultimate powder-processing solution

Offering the peak of agglomeration, also known as wet granulation or particle-size enlargement, this combined design results in the ultimate powder-processing solution that gives users optimal process control. The Flexomix system produces granulates with a porous, raspberry-like structure, excellent solubility, and better flow properties. Available from Firing Industries, this system has capacities from 100 to 40,000 kilograms per hour and is fully adaptable to any specific requirements.

With the Flexomix system, manufacturers can make porous agglomerates ranging from 100 to 1,500 microns with a typical D50 value from 200 to 700 microns. Since this system is used extensively for the production of instantly soluble agglomerates for food, chemicals, and pharmaceutical applications, this technology is often called instant agglomeration. The user can feed base powders as a mixture or multiple powders in parallel. An accurate, gravimetrical powder-feeding subsystem ensures a consistent powder-to-fluid ratio, while a liquid-dosing skid ensures accurate flow control and a constant powder-to-fluid ratio in the agglomerator. The liquid skid can be equipped with a stirrer or heated tank – or even a preparation tank in tasks involving solution binders.

The Flexomix mixer/agglomerator is popular for its dependability, simplicity, compact design, and maximum process flexibility to produce the required agglomerates. It enables homogeneous mixing of powder and liquids to form wet agglomerates instantly. The Schugi fluid bed dryer dries, cools, and conveys the agglomerates to the product-classifying section to prepare the final product.
