Ohio Broach can manufacture horizontal broaching machines with capacities ranging from five to 35 tons, and strokes from 20 to 90 inches. Its lineup includes the “HC” model, which utilizes a close-grained, high-tensile, one-piece cast iron guide head, and the “HF” model, which employs a continuously welded and thermally stressed relieved fabricated steel guide head. Each model is designed and constructed to assure the rigidity and stability required for precise tool tracking. In addition, each model uses hardened and ground alloy steel machine ways to guide the machine pull head, which is equipped with precision ground wear pads that are easily accessible for replacement when necessary. All pull heads can easily be adjusted for vertical tool alignment with the industry standard two-inch, eight-pitch female thread for broach puller attachment. The rapid return of the broach pull head to its starting position is a standard feature on all of the company’s horizontal broach machine models.

These units also feature an Allen-Bradley PLC, which provides consistent and reliable machine regulation for broaching operations. Ohio Broach programs the PLC at its factory to meet the specific needs of each customer’s application; however, it can be fine-tuned at the customer’s facility to adapt to changing production demands.

These horizontal broaching machines also feature a high performance, fixed displacement vane pump, which has the power and energy efficiency required for demanding broaching applications.
