Honeywell wireless device managers meet international safety and security standards.

Thermo-Kinetics Measurement & Control is a top source of products by Honeywell Process Solutions, a major international manufacturer of measuring devices. Honeywell recently announced that its wireless device manager products have earned ISASecure cybersecurity certification, which means that they are devoid of known cybersecurity vulnerabilities and protected from network attacks.

This certification from the International Society of Automation (ISA) confirms that Honeywell is committed to the safety and security of its products.

Meeting the strictest requirements

exida – a certification body and research company that focuses on safety-critical and high-availability automation systems, control-system cybersecurity, and alarm management – has assessed Honeywell’s ISA100 wireless device manager model WDMY, version R320, and deemed it compliant with the requirements for the ISASecure EDSA certification level 1.

The WDMY is the first industrial wireless gateway to achieve this certification, which certifies according to the ISA/IEC 62443 cybersecurity standards. It ensures that Honeywell manages the development of the WDMY under a secure development life cycle and will maintain its security capabilities as the product evolves over time.

Another Honeywell wireless device manager that Thermo-Kinetics supplies is the OneWireless network. This is an industrial wireless mesh network that can simultaneously support ISA100 Wireless and WirelessHART field instruments, Wi-Fi devices, and Ethernet/IP-based instruments. The network is composed of several interconnected elements. It allows users to design, commission, configure, and monitor the wireless field network and devices connected to it from a centralized location. This centralized management approach simplifies daily operations significantly, which reduces cost of ownership.

This wireless device manager assumes three roles: wireless field instrument network gateway, system manager, and security manager. Its functions include acting as a protocol translator between application layers, governing networks and devices, and issuing security keys to wireless devices so they can join wireless field instrument networks.

Honeywell’s OneWireless solutions help worksites tackle critical industrial challenges in reliability, safety, and process efficiency. Another wireless device manager that Honeywell offers in this category, among its infrastructure equipment, is the ISA100 network manager.

For the best and safest of wireless solutions, trust the Honeywell name.
