HOLZ solves major tank supplier’s leak problems with Chlorobutyl connector

A global supplier of polypropylene tanks gets valuable assistance from HOLZ.

This tank supplier was building its finished products in part by using conveyor belting bonded together. But in one case, the glue at the seams started deteriorating after installation, which caused leaking in the expansion joint.

To solve this issue, the company sent its drawings to three different expansion-joint suppliers, including HOLZ. The other two suppliers responded that the problem was unsolvable. Fortunately for the tank company, HOLZ did not see it that way: it was up for the challenge.

Unlike the other two suppliers, HOLZ had one of its expert sales-team members contact the polypropylene-tank company and provide direct engineering support. After analyzing the situation, the HOLZ Rubber Team recommended using the manufacturer’s Chlorobutyl connectors, which have a very tight tolerance. These connectors are known for having a lifespan of four to five years when connecting polypropylene strip line tanks for users in the metal-processing sector.

Not only did this solve the tank supplier’s problem – it also sparked the beginning of a long-term working relationship. The company has continued to work exclusively with HOLZ, benefiting from the latter’s high-quality products and ample expertise.
