HARTING Canada supplies some of the globe’s most groundbreaking connectivity solutions in this country – like its innovative Han ES Press HMC connectors. Since their introduction last year, this connector series has enabled more flexible production for customers, as well as a simpler installation process for up to 10,000 mating cycles. These units have interfaces that can be quickly installed, with no tools required, and their robustness enables connection and disconnection over long operational lives.
Three of the core needs
Three of the core needs of flexible production are the ability to install modules and machines quickly, to reconfigure these modules and machines, and to operate them without any disruption. The Han ES Press HMS series fulfill these requirements. With their quick-connect technology, these unique connectors are highly recommended for a diverse range of applications.
“HMC” in the product name stands for High Mating Cycles. An actuator triggers a pre-tensioned cage clamp that comes with the contact inserts. When the actuator is pushed into the contact chamber, the cage clamp returns to its initial position and secures the conductor. Releasing the connection required nothing more than a standard screwdriver.
This series of HMC connectors fits with the Han standard housing sizes from six B to 24 B; these standard housings are currently available in versions with locks and seals optimized for HMC applications. The Han ES Press HMS series complements this with contacts and grounding elements that are very abrasion-resistant, due to a special surface coating.
Yet another major benefit of these HMC connectors is that they are reliable in virtually all harsh environments, including ones with high vibration. Each device is built by the HARTING team with a conductor that sits tightly because of the constant pressure that comes from the cage clamp. Installation and connection times are much shorter that those of typical cage clamps, screw connections, and hard-wiring methods. This leads to substantially lower installation and detachment time, which simplifies servicing in a significant way.
HARTING is the name to trust for connectors that facilitate easier production and reach new heights.
