Hot surfaces and bright lights often pose a challenge for measurement instruments. But for Acuity’s AccuRange 2000 Laser Distance Meter, these barriers to accuracy are not a concern. The meter offers reliable non-contact distance measurement and tracking across distances up to 500 metres, and is designed to work extremely well outdoors, in bright lights, and on hot targets.

In fact, there is no shortage of advantages to using the AR2000 laser distance meter. Its many benefits include:

  • Versatile: It is the perfect laser for a wide range of applications, including measuring the position of cranes, measuring the length of lumber, pipe, bricks and other targets, measuring the position of hot metal targets, such as steel and aluminum, and much more.
  • Easy to integrate: As with all of Acuity's laser sensors, the AR2000 is optimized for easy integration into industrial automation and measurement systems.
  • Fast and accurate: Within a range of 550 yards or 500 metres, AR2000 Series laser sensors provide an absolute measurement accuracy of one millimetre (.04 inches) and a measurement frequency of up to 100 Hz.
  • Convenient data display and parameterization: Acuity AR2000 sensors are equipped with an OLED display and touch keys.

These units, with their many advantages, are available in Canada from Durham Instruments. The Pickering, Ont.-based supplier carries a wide selection of lasers and sensors from Acuity. Its portfolio also consists of high-quality measuring instruments from many leading manufacturers.
