MOCAP offers discs and tapes in this category.

MOCAP is trusted by businesses across North America for caps, plugs, and grips, but its portfolio also includes various masking solutions. This includes many sizes of high-temperature masking discs and tapes, which are made of either polyimide or polyester. These products are recommended for protecting manufactured items in extremely hot environments.

Because of their silicone-based adhesives, which leave no residue after they are removed, these discs and tapes resist very high temperatures for up to an hour.

Discs ideal for powder coating

Also known as dots, high-temperature masking discs are ideal for powder coating and similar applications. The MCD-PE series can handle constant temperatures as high as 218 degrees Celsius, and the MCD-PI line can withstand temperatures up to 260 degrees Celsius; the latter line also protects against short exposure to temperatures above 371 degrees Celsius. Each disc measuring at least 3/8 of an inch includes a split backing that reduces labour time.

High-temperature polyester masking discs come in 25 sizes and quantities from 100 to 5,000 per roll; diameters range from 3.2 to 152.4 millimetres (mm). Polyimide discs are available from MOCAP in 16 sizes and quantities from 1,000 to 5,000 per roll, and diameters run from 4.8 to 44½ mm. More discs per roll are available to decrease inventory, piece price, and time for changing rolls.

Polyester and polyimide tapes are available for masking larger areas on which dots are insufficient. Two lines of these high-temperature tapes are available – the MCT620 series (polyester) and the MCT800 series (polyimide). Both are perfect for extremely hot powder-coating applications. The MCT620 line resists temperatures as high as 218 degrees Celsius for an hour and is stocked on wide rolls; MOCAP can cut it to any specific width a customer requests. This series comes in 12 sizes, with widths from 6.4 to 152.4 mm and a consistent roll length of 65.8 metres.

Recommended for high-temperature powder-coating tasks and other applications with extreme heat, the MCT800 polyimide series can handle temperatures up to 260 degrees Celsius over one hour, plus shorter exposures to temperatures above 370 degrees Celsius.
