N.R. Murphy’s portfolio includes several key accessories designed to enhance its dust collection offering. From rotary air locks and abort dampers to duct silencers, these products are another reason N.R. Murphy has been a leading provider of dust collection systems for more than 70 years.

Rotary air locks

N.R. Murphy’s rotary air locks are used to provide an airtight seal on cyclones, dust filters, storage bins, enclosed mechanical conveyors and more. With a heavy gauge, all welded construction, a simplified drive assembly and a removable side plate for easy access to replaceable seals, these units offer a trouble-free and efficient design. They are available in three standard sizes up to 193 cubic feet per minute capacity, and can maintain pressure or vacuum up to 20 inches water gauge (wg). Rotary air locks are suitable for all types of products, including plastic, metals, grains, chemicals and wood. For applications that require resistance to high temperatures, corrosion and product contamination, special metals and/or seals can be used in the construction.

Duct silencer

This accessory is designed to decrease the noise level in dust collection equipment. It is available in all sizes and configurations to fit N.R. Murphy’s equipment, as well as equipment from other manufacturers. The unit features a circular, all welded, heavy gauge steel design that enables free airflow for minimal resistance and pressure drop. It is also available with inlet and outlet diameters to suit standard duct sizes.

Abort dampers

The Murphy abort damper, when installed in the cleaned air stream of a filtering system, is an instant aborting device designed to expel the air to atmosphere when activated by a properly installed spark or fire detection system. It is ideal for use when recycling filtered air from a wood refuse exhaust system. Fabricated from heavy gauge reinforced steel to provide protection from fires and explosions, the unit helps to keep employees safe from harm. It is available in a full range of sizes for material handling exhaust systems.
