Exactus infrared thermometers from BASF are available from Thermo-Kinetics Measurement & Control. The precision measurement these thermometers offer — they are capable of detecting temperature variations as small as 0.01 degrees C — enables tighter process control. And, at speeds of up to 1,000 readings per second, they also offer rapid measurement.

These advantages make Exactus temperature sensors a top choice for a broad range of applications, including:

  • Glass processing – In glass processing applications, Exactus thermometers offer critical information that can be used to achieve better process yields and increased profitability.
  • Semiconductor processing – The innovative technology behind Exactus thermometers provides a number of benefits for controlling wafer-to-wafer temperature and film thickness uniformity. These thermometers use exceptionally sensitive electronics and advanced optics that allow shorter wavelength detectors to be used. The result is decreased errors from wafer transmission and emissivity. Exactus thermometers also offer superior control and noise suppression due to the high speed and resolution of measurements.
  • Industrial heating – In heating applications, the stability, size and speed of Exactus sensors can solve many issues associated with difficult industrial heating applications, including casting, galvanneal, vacuum annealing, and high-speed induction heat treating.

Exactus thermometers are capable of providing digital and/or analog outputs, so they are easy to integrate into various control systems. They offer high repeatability of 0.1 degrees C and drift of less than 0.1 degrees C per year. They are also capable of using short wavelengths for taking low temperature measurements of less than 25 degrees C.
