Heavy Duty Ball pumps from Sandpiper ideal for thinner fluids

Among the Sandpiper pump products that York Fluid Controls is now distributing is a line of Heavy Duty Ball (HDB) metallic pumps. These pumps are designed for liquids that are thin to highly viscous or that are laden with small solids. Each of the HDB pumps has an extended wear package, as well as ball check valves to keep liquids pumping at a high flow. They also have top or bottom discharges to handle tougher, solid-laden materials.

Sandpiper HDB pumps are light and portable, some weighing as little as 14 kilograms, and can be mounted either vertically or horizontally. They can handle high-pressure flow and up to 22 millimetres of solids, with suction lifts ranging up to six metres.

Features

These pumps are thick-wall-constructed with sand-casted aluminum, cast iron, stainless steel or alloy C. Diaphragms and check valves have elastomer options including thermal plastic elastomers and PTFE. Other distinct features of these pumps include diaphragm connecting rods and externally serviceable air-distribution systems with air valves.

Sandpiper’s HDB pumps are available in four different metallic designs, with flow rates ranging from 159 to 988 litres per minute and discharge ports measuring between one and four inches. They are part of the manufacturer’s Signature Series line of air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps, which are known for durability and high performance.
