Three- and four-wire configurations available

Compliant with the most recent Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) international standard, HBM pre-wired strain gauges are freely configurable and have new TPE wires that enable a temperature resistance of up to 150 degrees Celsius. These units are available to customers with various options, such as temperature compensation for most materials, cable lengths ranging from 50 centimetres to ten metres (with RJ11 connectors available upon request), grid lengths going from 0.6 to ten millimetres, and three- and four-wire configurations.

Customers who have special requirements that are not met by any of these pre-wired strain gauges – such as gauges that are equivalent to the products that they are already using – are encouraged to get in touch with Durham Instruments for an alternative or customized solution. The same goes for businesses that have designed their own strain gauges. Specific models of HBM pre-wired strain gauges include the following:

• K-CLY4. Linear strain gauge with one measuring grid, oriented in the direction of the wire.
• K-CLY9. Linear strain gauge with one measuring grid, oriented perpendicular to the wire.
• K-CXY3. T Rosette with two measuring grids.
• K-CXY4. Torsion/shear strain gauge with two measuring grids.
• K-CDY4. DY strain gauge with two parallel measuring grids.
• K-CRY8. Strain-gauge rosette with three measuring grids.
• K-CRY6. Strain gauge designed specifically for residual stress measurement.
