EXAIR HazLoc cabinet coolers are safe for several classifications of environments.

EXAIR Corporation is trusted by manufacturers across North America for its unparalleled lineup of industrial compressed-air equipment – such as a series of cabinet coolers. This family includes a special design of HazLoc coolers, or units made specifically for hazardous locations. And now, these coolers have even higher credibility in the industrial market.

The safety-certification body UL Solutions has recently approved EXAIR’s HazLoc cabinet coolers for Class I Division 1 work environments.

Meeting strict UL safety requirements

This new designation sets these HazLoc cabinet coolers apart from the competition’s similar products. UL Solutions tested these cabinet-cooler systems and deemed that they surpassed its strict safety requirements for use on classified purged and pressurized electrical enclosures within Class I Division 1 (Groups A, B, C, and D), Class II Division 1 (Groups E, F, and G), and all Class III environments. In addition, these devices’ cooling capacity of up to 5,600 British thermal units per hour (Btu/hr) is perfect for electrical enclosures with problematic overheating.

These HazLoc cabinet coolers circulate air at minus seven degrees Celsius inside the enclosure to prevent high temperature faults, and they mount in a standard electrical knockout as they keep the NEMA 4 or 4X rating of the enclosure. A feature of each unit is an auto drain filter separator that makes sure no moisture passes to the inside of the electrical enclosure. An optional thermostat control minimizes compressed-air use and keeps the enclosure within plus or minus 1.1 degrees Celsius of the setting.

The full lineup of cabinet coolers is available for NEMA 12, 4, and 4X enclosures from 1,000 to 5,600 Btu/hr and is both UL-listed and CE-compliant, without any moving parts to wear out. EXAIR recommends them for cooling control panels, PLCs, microprocesses, fractional Hp variable frequency drives, and robotics, among other applications.

Right now, customers can receive a free Model 7929 AC sensor with the purchase of any EXAIR cabinet cooler. This sensor provides the ideal way to ensure that the power is going into a Gen4 single-point ionizer.

Based in Cincinnati, EXAIR corporation has manufactured and supplied industrial compressed-air equipment since 1983.
