IIoT starter kits

HARTING is making it easy to implement Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions with three new starter kits.

Implementing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions is now easier with the latest development from the HARTING Technology Group – its MICA IIoT starter kits. Available in three variations, these starter kits are the first products of their kind from HARTING, with all of the hardware and software a workplace needs to start a basic application.

Although many companies today want to integrate IIoT into their work environments, some have no idea where to begin or what applications suit them. HARTING’s IIoT starter kits eliminate all the risk and guesswork and make the process simpler.

Start running in ten minutes

One of the key advantages of these HARTING starter kits is that a user can get a new IIoT solution up and running in less than ten minutes. Everything a company could need to prototype a solution is included.

The three types of HARTING IIoT starter kits are as follows:

  • MICA CISS Complete IIoT Starter Kit. This kit creates a basic application for condition monitoring. It includes a sensor that measures vibration, acoustics, temperature, humidity, and other parameters and connects to a MICA edge-computing device that processes and visualizes information. The device’s pre-installed software includes an easy-to-use dashboard that displays sensor readouts.
  • MICA RF-R300 Complete RFID Starter Kit. This version has all of the required elements for a basic RFID asset-tracking application, such as industrial RFID tags, a MICA RF-R300 reader, two antennae, and the necessary cables. The reader includes a pre-installed demo version of Ha-VIS Middleware, a certified HARTING software that translates raw RFID signal formats into modern software protocols.
  • MICA Basic Ethernet Starter Kit. Recommended for connecting peripheral devices through Ethernet with communications protocols like Modbus-TCP or OPC UA. This kit has all the cables needed to start an IIoT application, plus a basic MICA device and required software.

All three of these MICA kits come with fast Ethernet capability and eight digital GPIO ports, and users can power them over PoE or 12V/24V.
