HARTING offers a complete cable assembly with the new Han S series

Using Han® S connectors gives you a cable assembly that can be immediately used.

The recent Hannover Messe gave The HARTING Technology Group a perfect setting for showcasing its latest innovations – including solutions for energy efficiency, like the Han S series of connectors. This connector line gives the customer a complete cable assembly in which prefabricated interfaces for energy-storage devices lower onsite wiring expenses.

The Han S series is the first HARTING connector line designed specifically for front-mounting energy-storage systems, allowing users to build these systems on the basis of battery modules.

Even shorter installation times

HARTING is now providing the interfaces combined with fully prefabricated cable assemblies tailored to specific applications, for even shorter installation times and less required wiring onsite. There are three Han S assemblies available, with cable lengths of 20, 30, 40, or 50 centimetres. They suit temperatures from -50 to 120 degrees Celsius and have halogen-free, ozone-resistant fabrication material. Their voltage limits are 1.8 – three kilovolts (AC) and 2.7 – 4½ kilovolts (DC), and they comply with several international safety standards.

A key advantage of the Han S complete cable assembly is optimal safety for the construction of battery storage systems, as its design meets all major technical standards. This includes the recent Underwriters Laboratories standard, UL 4128, for stationary energy-storage systems; this is currently the highest standard required by the market.

The single-pin connector is very appropriate for front-mounting drawers on energy-storage devices. It can transmit rated currents of up to 200 A at 1,500 volts. This connector is safe to install, due to finger-protected contacts with various types of connection – M8 bolts or busbars – and allows users to check the locking status visually.

The Han S series is also vibration-proof and available in red (+) or black (-) colours. It features a mechanical coding system that makes it impossible to connect the polarity incorrectly. With this feature, each connector is the perfect solution for connecting large numbers of battery modules in a complete cable assembly.
